Raphael Kay is a Harvard PhD Candidate, Co-Founder, and Board Member, building unconventional climate technologies inspired by living organisms. Bridging his training in design, biology, and materials chemistry, Raphael has scaled teams from 0 to >40, leading initiatives to develop urban resiliency tools inspired by 500-million-year-old jungle organisms, liquid windows inspired by mammalian vascular networks, and dual-mode solar panels inspired by color-changing beetle skins (corresponding to >20 filed patents as lead inventor). Raphael’s research has been featured >150 times (e.g., Bloomberg, Nature, Fast Company), while earning him >40 awards in sustainability (e.g., Forbes 30 Under 30, Science), and invitations to speak on radio shows/podcasts, as well as to lunar design teams (e.g., NASA) and Presidential/Prime Ministerial delegations worldwide.
