Kalina is a physics and chemistry engineer and holds a PhD in neuroscience. She has led the development of Ceebios— the Expertise Center for Studies in Biomimicry based in France — since 2013. She regularly teaches at leading French higher-education institutions, serves as an editorial advisor for technical and scientific publications, is called upon as an expert in working groups and advisory boards of major public and private bodies, and coordinates with her international counterparts. Her ambition is to position France and Europe as a pioneer in advancing biomimicry as a tool for the ecological transition, reconciling biodiversity, innovation, and the economy. In 2022, she received the French Economic Woman of Influence of the Year award. In 2025, she was named by Les Échos among the global personalities to watch in 2025.
