Advait Holkar is the founder and CEO of Praio, a biomanufacturing startup developing Artificial Protocells for low-cost biomanufacturing. Inspired by life’s early evolution, Praio is designing minimalist protocells in a bottom-up fashion for intensified chemical production. An Activate Fellow at Berkeley Lab’s Cyclotron Road, he earned a PhD in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from UCLA and spun-out Praio based on his graduate work. Advait works at the intersection of synthetic biology and materials science to build domestic and resilient chemical supply chains.
